Miskolc térségében elég sok kisebb-nagyobb szabad
vízfelület is kínálkozik a sportolás céljára. A város körüli mesterséges
tórendszer egyes nevezetesebb tagjai azonban specializálódtak a vízi
sportok szerint. A város határain belül, a Kassa felé kivezető 3-as út
Miskolc déli oldalán a Budapest felé vezető
3-as főút mentén legközelebb Mályi település területén fekszik a
következő tó. Itt vitorlás szakosztályoknak vannak telepei, noha néhány
strandszörfös is szokott a nyári időszakban evickélni ezen az eléggé
magas partokkal, hétvégi házakkal és egyéb közhasznú létesítményekkel
körbevett üdülőövezeti vízen. A közelben résen álló szörfösként is, a
(A déli tavat pont ezért szokták Debreceni-tónak is
hívni, az északi tó neve Gólem.) Nyílván a kiváló windsurfing-spot
gyorsabb megközelíthetősége érdekében, már kiépítették az M30-as
autópályát is, ahonnan a távolabbról érkező szörfösöknek
További ismertetőjel a kavicskitermelő úszótorony,
amelyet természetesen a szörfös tack-ok hosszabbítása érdekében
is vonz ide vérbeli szörfösöket.
A legjobb surf-spot, a hejőkeresztúri öböl a Déli-tó déli partján. A
Mindez persze nemcsak a sportos szörfösöket vonzza, hanem a fürdőzőket
és a lakókocsival-sátrakkal itt hosszan letáborozó nyaralókat is. Ennek
Szerencsére a nyári csúcsszezon
A nyéki széljárás többnyire rapszodikus.
alapján jósolt értékeknél is. A DNy-i szelek főleg a meleg időszakban
jönnek be, de a tisztán Ny-i, vagy É-i irányok is megbízhatóak, ha egy
nagy áramlási rendszerhez kapcsolódnak. Tehát itt ? ellentétben a
anticiklonok. Ideális esetben, amikor a szárazföldi magas nyomás egy
alattunk keringő mediterrán ciklonnal találkozik, igen kemény ÉK-i
szeleket kapunk, ami akár napokig is boldoggá tehet sokunkat. Mivel a
a speed-surf, a slalom stílus vált népszerűvé a nyéki windsurf-ösök
körében, noha van egy-két freestyle megszállott is a rendszeres
társaságban. Talán a 7 ? 8 m2 közötti vitorlák lehetnek a legjobban
érdemes ismétlődő cserére készenlétbe helyezni a partvonalon.
Végezetül itt látható egy légi felvétel a ?Nyéki Tórendszerről?, amelyen
az orientációs pontok, a módosuló partvonal, a vízre-szálló helyek (mind
természetes állapotú és szabadon hozzáférhető), a szokásos szélirányok
és relatív szélerősségek is fel vannak tűntetve.
A nyéki szörfösök növekvő családja örömmel lát minden
szörfös sportéletbe is jó lehetőségek mellett integrálódhat. Működjünk
ezért minél többen közre.
Fel a vitorlákkal!

Surf spot Nyék, NE Hungary
There are a number of more or less extensive water surfaces available
for sports in the vicinity of Miskolc. Particular waters in the
artificial lake system surrounding the city are specialised for certain
types of water sports. One can find Lake Csorba, lying virtually within
the confines of the city, just beside Route No. 3 (to Kosice). It is in
the hands of the rowing athletes. Another nearby lake lies in the South,
just beside the main road (Route No.3 to Budapest) in Malyi village.
There are some yachting clubs here, however, it is not uncommon to see a
few recreational windsurfers floundering about in summer on this water,
surrounded by a rather high shore and built up by holiday cottages and
other communal institutions, like discotheques, buffets and the like.
Even being on the alert for wind nearby, it is only worth launching on
this water when a sudden storm leaves no more than 10 minutes for
rigging, or when a long-lasting rain dictates to look for hard paved
access-ways to the water.
The real windsurfing spots of this region are located in the ?Nyeki
Lake-District?, just a few more kilometres further in the South (in the
direction of Budapest). There are basically two large lakes on either
sides of the main road (No.35) to Debrecen, just by the intersection in
Nyekladhaza. (This is from where the southern lake ? Lake Debreceni -
derived its name. The northern one is referred to as Lake Golem.) In
order ? surely - to provide a better access to this fine windsurfing
spot, the motorway M30 has also been constructed. Sailors - coming from
remote places - should leave the motorway taking the slip road for
Nyekladhaza-Hejokeresztur when the rippled water surface is in sight. A
further landmark is the high structure of the floating platform used for
mining gravel, of course to extend our windsurfing tacks continually. As
these lakes are alive and growing, and of course not built up, the water
is virtually potable. This does not only serve beginners who may
submerge quite often, but it attracts passionate sailors from distant ?
and often more windy ? locations as well.
The best surf spot is at Hejokeresztur, on the Southern coast of the
South Lake. The accurate geographical coordinates are: 47.96 Northern
latitude and 20.89 Eastern longitude. Lake Golem would also make an
excellent surf spot, where the northerly winds can enter really freely,
however its access either from the main road (R.35) or from a local road
to Onod village on the opposite side is rather rough, and the shore is
not too pleasant. Thus the Southern bay at Hejokeresztur remains to be
the main surf centre, where only the N- NW winds may get some local
interference ? for a section of ~ 400 m - by an inconveniently rising
little island.
Besides the potable water of the lake, there is also a buffet available
in the summer season. All this is an attraction not only to sailors, but
it is also enjoyed by holiday makers, bathers, and some people coming
here to stay - quite long - in their tents or caravans. The downside of
this feature is the usual crowd in summer, which may make it difficult
to lay a sail on the grass near the shore or to make a comfortable
launch on a hot week-end day, unless you carry the pieces of your
equipment in your hands and do not mind barging in the relatively large
territory encircled by the line of caravans and tents. Fortunately, the
high season crowd and the best winds do not really coincide.
Wind conditions are more of the rhapsodic kind at Nyek. This spot is
included as ?Nyeki-to? among the regular Windguru-sites but, due to the
diverting effect of the Northern Carpathian Ranges and Mt. Bukk only ~40
kms away in that direction, forecasted NW-wind speeds should be divided
by a rather uncertain factor, although NE-winds may turn out to be
significantly stronger than expected. Winds from the SW may enter during
the warm season, and westerly or northerly winds may be also reliable if
they are generated by a massive circulation system. In contrast to the
Trans-Danubian situation, sharp and short cold fronts may not give much
hope here, but well developed cyclones and anti-cyclones are of more
value. In the ideal case, when a large continental high touches a
Mediterranean cyclone just below us, we usually get some extremely wild
NE winds, which may make many of us happy for days. Because Lake Nyeki
lies between the huge Hungarian Plain in the south and the moderate
Hungarian and the towering Slovakian mountains in the north, the thermal
effect may enhance northerly winds in the early morning and southerly
streams in the afternoon on a sunny summer day.
Due to the lower average wind and the generally very deep water, the
speed-cruising or slalom style has become popular in windsurfing at Nyek,
although there are a few free-style freaks too in the bunch. Sails in
the range of 7 ~ 8 m2 may be the most exploited, but the 6 ~ 6.5 m2 size
is also common. The 5 m2 or smaller sails are reserved only for ?special
occasions?. However, it is advisable to bring a complete array of gear,
and set two or three rigs and two boards of different sizes at the
touch-line, ready to be rotated when necessary.
Finally, here is an aerial photograph of ?Lake District Nyek?, where the
landmarks, constantly changing coast lines, the beaches (all natural and
free to access), usual wind directions and relative magnitudes are also
marked.
The growing family of the Nyek sailors welcomes every newcomer, at least
because windsurfing can offer the maximum in a good and large company ?
in addition to the all important wind and water components. Thus the
young generation may integrate in a well organised and wide Hungarian
windsurfing network, with better conditions. Let us form the widest
possible cooperation for this purpose.
Sails up!
